Medical School Spring Break

Mom’s Facebook post: “Wondering what my favorite daughter is doing on her week off from school?”

I responded, “Rode on ambulance 12 hours today and 12 hours Sunday, taxes, FAFSA, several online courses, two papers, peer feedback for all coursework, applying for summer internships, listening to Bollywood on YouTube, trying to set up a webpage, cleaning my room, going to see movie with Nick on weekend, gonna swing by house and say hey, high school track meet, visiting Eanie, oil change, haircut, gala in Columbia, lunch with applicants for school next year to answer questions, making budget for next year, spending time with friends I haven’t seen since Christmas break (if that is possible), hiking, organizing two interest group meetings, writing blog article, housing for next year… Trying to have a break and relax also… still lots to do …thankfully mostly leisurely work and no intense studying!”

After Thursday hiking, I downshifted even farther into relaxing break time. Thankfully, I got through much of that list beforehand, as anything I hadn’t done was put off for another day. Strangely, as I listed off these things I remember being super excited about how much time I had to get all of that work done. Even medical students have to find time to take a break. Highest spring break goal of them all achieved.
