When schoolwork and cold weather get me down, the best thing I can do is go to the gym! Recently, during a particularly hard week, a few classmates and I headed to the Life Center after class in an attempt to re-energize. We discovered a mutual interest in rowing. Now we hit the ergs (indoor rowing machines) a couple times a week. Even though we will never be superstar athletes — or at least I know I won’t — exercise has become an activity we look forward to doing together. It’s a great way for us to socialize and a necessary outlet for stress relief!

Megan Epperson

An Alexandria, Virginia native, I graduated from Clemson University in 2013 with a B.A, in Biological Sciences. I chose USC School of Medicine Greenville because of my love for South Carolina and the school’s mission, which aligns with the values that originally attracted me to medicine. When I’m not in class or studying, my hobbies include: Bikram yoga, nutrition, spending time with friends and family, and rowing (although I haven’t found a big enough river in Greenville yet). I feel blessed to be a part of the class of 2017, where I know I will learn from enthusiastic faculty, classmates and a groundbreaking charter class.
